How to Play Krillion: Complete Beginner Guide
Krillion is a free browser guessing game where rarer valid answers score deeper. This page explains the Daily Dive flow so you can play confidently at krillion.io — we do not host or embed the game here.
What is Krillion?
Krillion asks you to name one member of a checkable set — countries on a continent, films in a franchise, clubs in a league, and so on. Every answer in that set counts, but answers most people type score little, while equally correct but rarely named answers score a lot. That rarity race is the heart of the game.
The shared calendar challenge is the Daily Dive. Theme packs (including geography / Around the World) are separate numbered games you can play when available on the publisher’s site. This guide focuses on how a typical round works so beginners understand scoring before they chase depth.
Murdoku Fans is not the official Krillion site and is not affiliated with the publisher. We publish editorial how-tos only — no iframes, no cloned gameplay, no official branding claims.
How to play — step by step
Own gameplay captures below illustrate the flow without embedding the live board.
- Read the set carefully. Many rounds show a short preview before the input opens. Use that beat to parse exact constraints (for example “EU member state” versus “a European country”).
- Type one answer while the clock runs. You typically get about 25 seconds after the field opens. Accents and capitalization are often flexible; focus on a valid member of the set, not perfect spelling.
- Retry if refused. An answer outside the set is rejected and you can try another spelling or another member while time remains. When the clock hits zero, whatever is typed is checked as-is — empty or invalid scores zero for that round.
- Watch the rarity reveal. Valid answers fall into rarity tiers. Points from that tier convert to depth (10 metres per point). A perfect seven-round game reaches 7,000 metres.
- Continue through seven rounds. One answer counts per round. After the dive, share a spoiler-light result if you like — then wait for tomorrow’s Daily Dive or explore packs on the official site.

Rarity reveal & dive summary
After you submit, the game shows which rarity tier your answer landed in — from common Plankton picks up toward Deep Cut and Krillion.
At the end of seven rounds you see total depth. Share cards stay spoiler-light so you can compare depth without dumping answers.

End-of-dive & share
The summary screen lists all seven rounds and your depth total. The share export is designed for bragging without spoiling prompts.

Scoring & streaks
Rarity — not speed alone — decides your depth. Publisher documentation describes six tiers, from common Plankton picks up to a full Krillion rare answer. Approximate values:

- Park the first answer that pops into your head — it is often the crowded, low-scoring pick.
- Reach for your second idea: still valid, usually rarer.
- Beware “too clever” traps that feel smart but land in a weak tier (Too Clever).
- Read date limits and entity types on the prompt (city vs country vs landmark).
- Practice category breadth offline (capitals, leagues, franchises) without spoiling today’s dive.
FAQ
Is Krillion free?
Yes. The Daily Dive is free to play in the browser at krillion.io. Without an account you typically get one game per day; a free account may unlock a few more. Paid plans remove the daily ceiling — check the publisher’s current terms.
How often does Krillion reset?
The Daily Dive renews once per day with the same shared puzzle for everyone. Theme packs and numbered games are separate from the calendar daily.
Can I play past Krillion puzzles?
Numbered pack games often stay available permanently on the official site. For Daily Dive history, see our hints-first archive — we never scrape the live game API.
Is this the official Krillion site?
No. This is an independent Murdoku Fans guide. Play the real game at krillion.io. We do not embed, iframe, or clone Krillion gameplay.

Honest note: Raren is a same-site daily challenge about rare game knowledge. It is not a geography clone of Krillion.
