Tap a blue letter to cross it out; tap again to undo. Pale cells are confirmed and cannot change. Uncrossed letters count as kept. Use Tab or arrow keys, then Enter or Space.

Finish row 1: cross out one letter. The other rows are already confirmed. Check what your choice does to its column.

Make a choice, then check it. A matching number does not yet prove the word is right.
Word bank & meanings

This small, visible word bank defines the exercise. A real English word outside it is not allowed here; that does not make it a nonexistent word. It is not the official Wordplete dictionary.

  • APE — a primate
  • BEE — honey-making insect
  • JAW — part holding the teeth
  • JOB — paid work or task
  • OUR — belonging to us
  • SPA — place for relaxing treatments
  • SUE — bring a legal claim
  • WAR — armed conflict

How to play Wordplete

Wordplete is a word logic game: cross out filler letters so the letters left in each row and column spell English words. Unlike Wordle, you start with a whole grid rather than typing guesses.

1

Read the numbers

The numbers tell you how many letters to keep, not how many to delete. In our 4×4 practice boards every line keeps 3, so each line loses one letter.

2

Read in order

Rows read left to right; columns read top to bottom. Do not shuffle letters to make an anagram. One decision affects both directions.

3

Check counts AND words

Finish only when every line matches its number and spells an allowed word. On the official site circles are notes; here pale cells are fixed givens and editable letters are simply kept or crossed out.

Wordplete tips: three mistakes to catch

Rows meet columns

A square belongs to a row and a column at once. With the other rows confirmed, deleting from the wrong column leaves one column short and another over its target.

Same letter, different square

Identical letters are not interchangeable positions. Two deletions may leave the same horizontal word, but their vertical effects differ. Check the column before committing.

Right count, wrong word

Counts only tell you the length. Read the kept letters left to right and top to bottom without rearranging them, then check the declared word bank.

Worked explanations & original word banks

Wordplete game: common questions

Where can I play Wordplete unlimited?

The official Wordplete site offers daily puzzles and an Unlimited mode. This page offers six fixed original learning exercises, not unlimited boards or today’s official answer.

Can I solve Wordplete by matching numbers alone?

Numbers are useful constraints, but matching them does not by itself prove a word or a unique arrangement. In these exercises you must also use the displayed English word bank.

Why does deleting either repeated letter look correct?

The remaining row can spell the same word after either deletion. The letters occupy different columns, though, so one choice can break a column’s count or word.

Is this a Wordplete solver or an official answer page?

No. It checks only our six original exercises and explains their constraints. It does not import, solve or reproduce official boards. Use the official game’s Hint or Check for its puzzles.

How is Wordplete different from Murdoku?

Both reward crossing constraints, but Wordplete uses English words and letter counts. Murdoku places people using clues on crime-scene maps. This is a related learning page, not a Murdoku case.
