Cross out all other squares in those rows.Amongst all the women, only (C) can be in the Altar. It cannot be (B) since she has to be beside some flowers. It cannot be (D) since she's in the Porch. It cannot be (G) since she has to be in an area with trees. It cannot be (H) since she's sitting in a chair. This means (C) is the woman in the Altar, so she is in R2C5. Because (E) is northeast of (C), he must be in R1C6.This narrows down (D) to be in R9C4, the last square in the Porch. Since (F) has to be in the corner of his area, he has to be in R7C7, which is the only corner left.(H) will occupy the last chair in R5C3. (A) will be in R6C9 since it's the last square for him to be beside a table.The last square for (B) to be beside some flowers is R8C8.Since (G) is with someone who was beside a tree, that person must occupy R3C1. Cross out all squares that intersect R3C1. This means (G) has to be in R4C2. This leaves the last square R3C1 for (V) – hence (G) is the murderer.
